Getting to photograph these family photos at west park this fall was such a joy. After two newborn sessions and now two family sessions with the Brennan family, they truly feel like one of those families that make this work feel so meaningful. Watching their girls grow—from tiny newborns to smiley, spirited little ones—has been such a privilege. It’s hard to believe how big the youngest already is compared to her newborn session earlier this year.

Even better than their style, though, is their energy. The girls were smiley from the moment they arrived—curious, playful, and full of that irresistible fall excitement. Why West Park Was the Perfect Setting

West Park in Carmel continues to be one of my favorite fall locations, and it was the perfect backdrop for the Brennans. The tall golden grasses, warm tones, and wide-open spaces created a soft, glowing atmosphere that matched their family’s warmth perfectly. The park gives kids plenty of room to explore without ever feeling crowded, which helps sessions feel natural and relaxed. The girls got to run, twirl, and play—exactly the kind of movement that brings photos to life.

And as the sun dipped lower, the light filtered beautifully through the trees, wrapping everything in that dreamy late-fall glow I love so much. It made every moment—even the in-between ones—feel picture-perfect.

A Family I Truly Adore

Photographing returning families is always special, but the Brennans hold a particularly sweet place in my heart.
