Amanda + Drew had the most beautiful wedding at Black Iris Estate in Carmel, Indiana. I am so grateful they asked me to be their wedding photographer + be part of their special day!
From the moment I first met them, I knew we could be best friends. They both have such radiant personalities and a great senses of humor. They compliment each other so well and truly bring out the best in each other. We had done a few engagement sessions together leading up to their wedding, so I felt pretty confident I was going to have a blast on their special day. (You can see their engagement sessions here & here)
This was my first wedding at Black Iris Estate, and I hope it isn’t my last. It was the most beautiful location for an outdoor summer wedding. Amanda + Drew wanted to keep the ceremony traditional by saving the “first look” for when she walked down the isle. Although, she did decide to do a first look for both her parents before the ceremony began. This is definitely something I will be recommending to all my brides from now on because it was so darn special. You could tell her parents had waiting to see their little girl on her wedding day Amanda’s entire life.
The ceremony was beautiful for many reasons–including the GORGEOUS willow chapel. But most importantly, their love story was portrayed so beautifully. Even though I had only met them a few months prior, I felt like I knew them for years just by the officiant’s stories. After the ceremony, these two snuck away for a few minutes to enjoy their special day. Another little idea I’ll be passing on. You would think Amanda + Drew had done a wedding or two before with how much thought and planning was put into every part of their day.
As the day when on it kept getting better and better. There was not time to spare from entertainment! They did a tunnel grand entrance including the Bridal Party entering to the Chicago Bull’s song & the happy couple entering to the Greatest Showman. Talk about a show 🙂 Even during dinner, there was a trivia game happening! One of the best parts of the night was when Drew + his Mother crashed their Mother/Son dance and brought up the Groomsmen. They did a mashup of songs completed by blowup instruments and neon shutter shades (yes, they brought them back from 2008!)
The perfect day concluded with the sparkler exit and endless smiles. Without a doubt, this has been my favorite wedding to date. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Feutz, you have a lifetime of love ahead of you!
